Computing pioneers have seen the need for multi-core processors ever since the advent of multitasking, but due to the lethargy of chip makers, and their flawed strategy of making faster, yet singular architecture based CPUs, the true multitasking revolution has been held back far too long. But then, better late than never - even though the reasons for going multi-core now may be a lot different from those in the early days.
